S-T-A-T-E of the Union: First premium play sweep of the year. Better late than never. Took my lashings from some bald inbred redneck in Clemson, SC a week ago. Hot debate inside Spo’s Sports about Clemson’s status on the ‘Hottest Girls’ list. Tigers might have surpassed the Noles on.. and off the field. Enough perving, let's get to some plays.

Week 11 Preview: Jobs not finished.

Week 11 Premium Plays:

Illinois -14 vs Maryland (2 units): Going to cost you to get to -14 here. Only about 9 people read this and I alerted all 9 on Tuesday to grab this at 14 before your paying for it. At this point in the season, when my boss and colleagues have all but shuttered the doors, I’m comfortable leaving the number at 14. Altmyer and Bielema off a bye here facing a Maryland squad that may have thrown in the towel – losing five straight. We talked earlier this year about Altmyer not being able to play against good defenses… the opposite is true for bad defenses. Altmyer tends to dawn the superman cape and get to work. 94^th ranked total defense on the field here for the Terrapins. Illinois handles the Terrapins 42-20.

Indiana -28 vs Wisconsin (1 unit): Wisconsin has been keeping games a little closer lately seemingly extinguishing the flames on that dumpster fire… Indiana is coming off a scare against Penn State where they needed a circus catch to pull out the win. We know Cignetti is going to run it up if he can and I think this is one of those games that gets ugly. The QB carousel continues for Wisconsin as they turned to true freshman QB Carter Smith last week when Danny O was carted off the field. I don’t see the Badgers getting in the endzone with Smith under center… and their other two options are marginally better. Last couple weeks make this one feel like it could be closer than it will be. Hoosiers bend over the badgers, 45-10.

Iowa +7 at USC (2 units): No rest for the weary here as the Hawkeyes faced off against Oregon a week ago and now travel to take on another ranked team in the Trojans. Listen, I’ve been all over this Trojans team this year. Finger to the pulse. Reading them like a short story. Bottom line is… they aren’t that good. They are good. But not that good. The Mark Gronowski led Iowa Hawkeyes have turned a corner in a big way. They are absolutely humming with an offense that rivals Mike Leach and Gardner Minshew at Washington State. The defense looks like the Steelers running around out there. Trojans QB Maiava has had a turnover problem the last few games tossing five interceptions in 3 games. Going to be a tall task for him against a top 10 defense. Questions about Lincoln Riley in the coaching carousel… how focused is he at the moment… We will see. I like the Hawkeyes to keep it between the number and I have talked myself into moving this from a one unit to a two unit play. Iowa pulls it out 21-20.

North Texas -17 vs UAB (2 units): We know the name by now. What you may not know, is registered sex offender, Jalen Kitna, is no longer the starting QB for the UAB Dragons. Ryder Burton has taken the reigns. This one is pretty simple. UAB doesn’t play defense. I’ll take my chances with Drew Mestemaker. Mean Green 54-24.

Texas Tech -23.5 vs UCF (2 units): Texas Tech is the Indiana of the B12. They will run it up when you can and are still building their resume after a loss a couple weeks ago. UCF has looked bad on the road and I can’t imagine they fix anything here. Red Raiders roll 42-10.

Week 11 Leans:

Pitt vs ND over 55.5: Pitt can score but can’t play defense. I think they contribute enough to get this over the number.

UNC +5.5 at Wake Forest: Feels like a low scoring rock fight. UNC liable to win outright. 

Ole Miss -11.5 vs Florida: Lifeless Florida team without a QB 

James Madison vs App State over 52.5: App State loves the chaos and this Dukes offense can get going with a dual threat QB.
