S-T-A-T-E of the Union: My most sincere apologies for missing week 1. Tickets went on a little bender there but is finally out of the halfway house and ready to get this season started. What a way to start the season with Florida State’s coming out party. In reality, I couldn’t bring myself to release a nine pick slate with only FSU bets and risk losing the fanbase before the season started. 2024 brought us another profitable year with unit management that kept the bookie up at night. The chronicle of William Tickets started out with a fairy tale 2023 season. Here we are two years later putting pen to paper on the next chapter. The CLIMB continues....
Week 2 Preview: Slim pickings in this week 2 slate as the bulk of teams went out and scheduled a buy game. Vegas still giving us the canvas to paint a profitable start to the year. Would love to see known Tickets associate, Illinois, overcome the trap Vegas has laid for them. Big ‘show me’ week for teams around the country. Why do you deserve to be one of my boys?
Week 15 Premium Plays:
Navy Team Total over 40.5 vs UAB (2 units): Starting off with one of the bell cows of the 2024 Tickets season we have the Navy midshipmen led by star QB Blake Horvath. Few reasons why I love this pick. 1. You know what you are getting with Navy in the sense that they hold the same identity year over year. These troops are locked into contracts with Uncle Sam and can’t just go running from team to team every six months like the rest of these turn-coats. 2. UAB has the 116th ranked return production in the country, evidently lacking on the defensive side of the ball because…. 3. UAB is fresh off a 3-9 season in 2024 and found themselves in a track meet with Alabama State week 1 giving up 42 total points and 514 total yards (200 on the ground). Safe to say Trent Dilfer’s days as a college coach are numbered. 4. The UAB quarterback is none other than former (current?) pervert, University of Florida cast-off Jalen Kitna who got busted for child porn in 2023. UF knows how to pick ‘em. Do-it-all Navy QB Blake Horvath will have the midshipmen marching. Navy cruises 49 – 17.
Pitt vs Central Michigan over 49.5 (1 unit): Pitt Panthers return almost 70% of their 2024 production overall which landed them with a top 25 offense from a year ago. Eli Holstein can sling it and Desmond Reid is a veteran threat out of the backfield. Big bad Narduzzi defenses of years past are no longer and Central Michigan will get a chance to participate here despite their whole roster sounding like NCAA random generated players. Pitt may get to 49 on their own but you can book 14 for the Chippewas as insurance. Holstein needs to have a big year to get his name circulating for the draft and I expect him to get the greenlight throughout this one. Pitt rolls 49-14
Kansas +7 at Missouri (2 units): Tickets is a real whore for some Jayhawks football. Jalon Daniels is a proven winner and faces off against unproven Beau Pribula. Pribula was beaten out in an open QB battle this summer but managed to find the field after the selected started went down with a season ending injury on the first drive of the game. 383 yards and 4 TD’s later and the Mizzou faithful are ready to parade him through the streets… Not so fast, my friends. Beau tagged up Central Arkansas who belongs on one of those ‘Most Obscure Teams Every SEC Team Has Played’ graphics. Missouri’s X-Factor is their RB Ahmad Hardy (ULM Transfer). Hardy amassed 10 YPC on 10 attempts a week ago. Have to add that Central Arkansas disclosure there. Good news for Jayhawks backers, they held their first two opponents to less than 100 yards on 50+ carriers combined (non-P4 opponents). I don’t think we are going to need it but if the price is right I will be purchasing the hook to 7.5. Jayhawks topple the not so mighty SEC, 31-21.
Vanderbilt +1.5 At Virgina Tech (1 unit): Arguably one of the most vocal teams this offseason were the Diego Pavia led Vanderbilt Commodores. They return 70% of their total production, which ranks them #6 nationally, from a dream season (relative) a year ago. Virginia Tech is on the back half of the aforementioned stat and struggled a week ago to move the ball. Veteran QB Kyron Drones looked shaky to start handing an INT to the gamecocks early and couldn’t seem to recover. Statistically, the Commodores defense ranked in the top half of the SEC a year ago and their offense has the ability to get going in a big way. Vandy seems to have momentum going with a chip on their shoulder while Tech seems to be killing time until Kyron Drones vacates the city limits. Like clock work, ‘experts’ are calling for the Hokies to be a sleeper in the ACC and time and time again they fall flat on their face. Commodores get one back on the big bro ACC, 27-17.
Ole Miss -8 at Kentucky (2 units): Rumors swirling of a motivated Mark Stoops in Lexington… Yeah, motivated to collect his buyout. The stone mason got to work on the tombstone when Stoops selected Zach Calzada to lead his squad this year. Calzada has had zero success at his first two stops and struggled mightily in the season opener against Toledo. If new Ole Miss QB Austin Simmons can keep the ball out of danger, this should be a runaway. If not, it may be Joey Freshwater’s time to shine. Kentucky struggled defensively to keep the ball in front of them a year ago and it looks like more of the same this year for what will likely be Stoops final year in Lexington. We know this is going to be a blowout. The only question is will Mark Stoops answer when Zach Calzada with Northwestern Mutual calls a year from now. Rebels 45-17.
BYU -21.5 vs Stanford (1 unit): Follow the breadcrumbs bet here. Pretty simple. I witnessed one of the worst teams of all time take the field in week 0 in the Stanford Cardinals. They traveled to the rock where they lost a heartbreaker to the Rainbow Warriors mainly because their QB proved incapable of throwing the ball. I decided to take a look at what Hawai’i was up to last week and I had to collect my jaw off the floor when I saw they got rocked by Arizona 40-6… How bad is Stanford? My numbers have BYU as a 14 point favorite over Arizona on a neutral field so where does that leave us in this tilly? BYU trots out Bear Backmeier, a true freshman QB, brother of tickets rival – Hank Backmeier. This does not deter me and I am willing to let bygones be bygones. T-boosted Mormons take care of business, 40-10.
Week 2 Leans:
Bama -36.5 vs UL-Monroe: Deboer may have to sacrifice a ULM player at midfield this week to please Bama fans.
Maryland -16.5 vs NIU (Friday Night Lights): Revamped Maryland offense against a team that struggled with Holy Cross a week ago.
Kansas State -17.5 vs Army: Good luck pinning down this Kansas State team but I’ll go ahead and fade any team that loses to Tarleton State
Oklahoma -4.5 vs Michigan: Tall ask for the true freshman Michigan signal caller here.
Boston College +3.5 at Michigan State: Ticket’s newest fetish may be former five-star QBs resurfacing at middle tier schools. Show me something here, Dylan Lonergan. Show me you want to be one of my boys.
Good to be back.
Sincerely,
William Tickets
