POW: 1-0 (+4.4u)
miniPOW: 1-0 (+2.7)
Season: 7-5 (+6.3u)
I had no doubt that I would deliver a winning week in my debut. Shoutout to The Sporacle and Billy Tickets for being WINNERS as well. Many are asking if "Spo's Sports" is the hottest CFB betting blog out there right now.
I am thrilled to begin my season with winners in both the POW and miniPOW, and I hope to replicate that this week (shoutout Arkansas and Vandy). Last week I went 7-5 and profited 6.3 units. I would say that is pretty good, but I love the slate this week and ready to bigger. Going to jump straight into this and make it quick so I can go stuff my face with wings and beer as I write this from the great city of Tallahassee, Fl.
POW: TCU -6.5 (-115): Risk 5u to Profit 4.4u
I am high on this horned frog squad led by Josh Hoover. I think he is the real deal. He has over 600 yards and 6 touchdowns in two games, and I love them here at home against a SMU squad who lost to Baylor and kept it tight against Missouri State. This probably isn't the best parallel either, but they only beat TAMC by 29, a squad who FSU beat by 74. I am not trying to compare TCU to FSU, but given this information I like them to cover the one score spread here.
miniPOW: Arkansas State -4.5 (-110): Risk 3u to Profit 2.7u
I am sure not many expected me to have a matchup between two 1-2 teams as the miniPOW, but I couldn't help myself with this abysmal line. Arkansas State is a program many are familiar with, and I was impressed with their ability to keep it tight with Iowa State. I like Jalen Raynor, and I expect the defense to be all over Kennesaw State, a team who just narrowly beat Merrimack.
Rutgers +1.5 (-105): Risk 2u to Profit 1.9u
I had to sneak in a Friday game of course to keep you all engaged. Rutgers is 3-0 and at home. Although this will be their first real test of competition, they rank 13th in PPG and 11th in TD in this young season. Iowa has not proved anything to me by beating up on UMass or UAlbany. Low scoring game, I will take the underdog at home.
Arkansas -6.6 (-120): Risk 2u to Profit 1.7u
I am once again returning to this gritty Arkansas squad who went blow for blow with Ole Miss. I thought they were going to pull out the win. Although this is a trap line, I have to take them as a one score favorite to Memphis.
Oklahoma -6. (-115): Risk 2u to Profit 1.7u
John Mateer is a baller, and I see these two teams as somewhat evenly matched. However, I give the edge in the skill department to Oklahoma, and I love the fact that they will be at home. Oklahoma has taken care of their lesser opponents far easier than Auburn has, not to mention they have also faced a much better team in Michigan.
Nebraska +1.5u (-115): Risk 2u to Profit 1.7u
I know I just talked about Michigan being a better team, but with FSU and Miami being BACK... I can't help myself but take a 3-0 Huskers team at home and as underdogs, nonetheless. I expect Raiola to roll and their stout defense to take care of Michigan.
NC State +3.5 (-120): Risk 2u to Profit 1.5u
This is the cheesiest line of the whole slate. I genuinely think NC State is solid and that Duke is awful. I thought the bookmakers favorited the wrong team in this matchup. I am taking it anyways and will probably regret it, but I could not resist. I bought a point to be safe.
Indiana -6.5 (-115): Risk 2u to Profit 1.7u
Illinois has taken care of WMU and WIU, only allowing 3 points total. They also took care of a bad Duke team, but they are rolling into Cignetti's house and I like the Hosiers here. I actually will probably place more on them so go ahead and BOOKMARK this one (might end up a 4u bet and will factor this in later). They rank 3rd in touchdowns scored and 7th in ppg. I am a fan of Fernando Mendoza, and I think they win BIGLY.
Mizzou -9.5 (-115): Risk 2u to Profit 1.7u
Don't love this one, but USC has to be deflated after losing to Vandy, and I actually think this Mizzou team is solid. I like the fact they are at home. Again, this USC team beat an awful VT team by two scores and didn't necessarily handle SC State as good as they should have. After being throttled by Vandy, I will take the team who has proven success.
